I moved from South Africa to Denmark in 2006 for personal reasons. I’m currently involved in several businesses and opportunities between DK, SA and the UK.
Having been self employed for many years, I have experienced the joys of starting a business, the challenge of acquiring a business, the fun of rescuing a business, as well as the fears and realities of losing a business. I am proud to say that I have done these things more than once and have had a lot of fun in the process. I think I have learned something along the way too.
I love innovative thinking and coming up with new ideas that challenge the status quo. I think it’s exciting to start small but aim high. It’s great to think out of the box, but important not to forget where the box is.
My preference is to create and design a business on a large white canvas, continually moulding it into established business models or (perhaps more frequently) adapting the models to suit the opportunity. It’s these initial and creative steps which for me are the most artistic and exciting aspects of business.
I also know that it’s very difficult to maintain a balance between the theory of great plans and the realities of execution, and that this is where the team of people that are within or around your business can help to make, or break, your opportunity.
Since my first business partnership in 1993, I consider myself fortunate to have gained experience in many different business sectors, and have done almost everything from washing the dishes to being Director and CEO of several private and public companies.
I hope to have meaningful dialogue and perhaps even network with other Aminos.
