Hello Martin,
We have tried to contact you via telephone, however, due to the time difference we were unable to contact you. We have completed our investigation of the unusual click activity you recently reported for the clicks charged to your account between Dates.
After carefully analyzing the click trail for your account, our Loss Prevention Team has determined that there were no unqualified clicks. However, we have issued a goodwill credit to your Yahoo! Search Marketing account balance in the amount of $542.60. Please note that although no unqualified clicks were detected on your account, we have issued this credit as a measure of goodwill and appreciation for your business. Please allow up to three business days for the adjustment to appear in your account. Once adjusted be sure to review your billing history in the Reports section of the Manage My Accounts Page under Billing Transaction Detail to confirm your adjustment.
A sudden increase in traffic was due to Content MatchTM. As you may already know Content MatchTM is a source of leads that displays your listings when Internet users are viewing related content on our partners'' pages. The Content Match listings that are served are determined by the relevancy of a bidded keyword to the content of the partner''s page. For example, if the user is reading an article about interest rates, he or she could find links on the side of the page for mortgage-related advertisers. Similarly, users who are researching vacation plans may see listings for hotels and rental car agencies.
While searches from these sites return Yahoo! Search Marketing results, your server logs will not always reflect Yahoo! Search Marketing URL. In fact, your logs will sometimes show our partner''s URL, not ours. If you only scan your logs for the domain name, you will miss clicks that come from our partners.
To verify that our Click Protection System is working and to more accurately track the amount of traffic you receive from Yahoo! Search Marketing we recommend that you change the URL you have listed with us to a tracking URL. Once you''ve changed your URL to a tracking URL, you will be able to view the amount of traffic you''ve received from Yahoo! Search Marketing listed on your Web logs, and compare this information with your Yahoo! Search Marketing click charges in the Reports section of your account. You will also be able to verify that you have not been charged for any excessive click activity.
You may easily convert your existing URLs to tracking URLs by turning on Yahoo! Easy Track. By clicking the ?On? button from the Account Set Up page within your account, your existing URLs will be appended with information that will appear in your Web server logs, allowing you to identify traffic driven by Yahoo! Search Marketing and its affiliate network by search term, match type and raw search query.
Thank you for your patience while we researched your account. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Executive Services
