"We track views and unique visitors by IP Address whereas Google Analytics does it by setting a cookie. Cookies notoriously undercount visits (as cookies might be disabled or otherwise blocked, they may not expire between visits taken to the site over multiple days, or the visitor may leave the page before the cookie is processed) and IP tracking can over-count them since automated visits are included and some ISPs assign roving IPs to their customers that change constantly. Generally, the exact number of unique human visitors is somewhere towards the middle, between Weebly and Google. This is not a flaw in Weebly's stats (or Google's), it's just that there will always be differences between server stats and third-party stats. It has nothing to do with our analytics code and we are not tracking your clients, we are tracking Weebly's overall stats among all of our customers. All web builders do the same." |
