Hej Amino! Firstly, apologies for writing this in English, learning Danish is very high up my 'to-do' list! Secondly, a bit of background. I'm British, currently living in London and work as an IT Consultant in a very specialised field. I am a company director of a UK ApS, we employ 9 people and provide both IT products and services. In addition to running the business with the other directors, my main function is to act as a specialist IT consultant to our clients providing a range of services some on an ad-hoc basis, some on a more embedded ongoing basis and hopefully in the near future acting as a liaison for a fully managed service provision. My Danish partner and I are planning to move to CPH in the coming months, the catalyst will be her being offered a job. She is hoping for a firm offer in the next few weeks. My initial plan for my own employment is to try to stablish myself as an IT Consultant in Denmark undertaking the same work I do here in the UK. Some points to note: - I don't intend to supply products in the first instance, I will concentrate on providing IT Consultancy services. - I expect only (hopefully) to be able to find enough work for myself at least in the short to medium term and so don't envisage employing anyone else for at least 2/3 years. - I hope that the UK ApS I currently work for will be my initial client - I will work remotely based in CPH. So, my question is what is the best thing for me to do, should I register as a enkeltmandsvirksomhed or as an ApS? My thoughts: - I have the 80,000 Krone needed to register as ApS, but maybe these funds might be better not tied up in this way. - My perception is that I will be taken more seriously by my intended client base (Large Corporates, Regional and Local Government etc) if I am registered as an ApS. Maybe this is not the case in Denmark as it is in the UK? (Most solutions I provide will likely be in the order of days of consultancy rather than 12 month long contracts). - I guess that the major concern for me is which option would be more tax efficient? I'm very keen to make sure that I pay all the taxes that I need too, but wonder if one option is obviously more efficient than the other? In the UK, for example, it is often very common for IT contractors to set up ApS companies for tax reasons. Of course, I fully intend to hire an Danish accountant in due course, but would really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Many thanks in advance, UK2DK |
