I am starting my Master of Tax Accounting in the fall and am looking for a job starting next fall. I have a 4.0, an above-average resume, and will have passed the CPA exam by the end of the summer. As I go through this last school year still recruiting with big 4, regional, and local firms, what advice do you have for advancing in the recruitment process despite not being the best in social situations? And in a job interview, would you recommend disclosing my strengths and weaknesses (without using the autism label) so they know what kind of employee I will be? |
Always tell your future employer everything,
That is probably the reason why you did not get that Job.
And by the way if I was employing you and you had not told me about your diagnosis and I ever found out. You would be fired on the spot no buts...
And that is due to the fact that by not telling them you're an Aspie you are being dishonest from the start. And trust me no employer will ever wanna hire a dishonest person.
I have PKAN and I told my boss that when I was applying for my first ever Job and that made him tell my co-workers take extra care around me.
So being honest about your diagnosis is absolutely important
