Thank you!
Just one quick question - so what would happen if I left both SU and my work under the A-card?

Nothing happens, you can have both SU and work under the A-card. However one of the two must use the main A-card and the other must use the bicard (as John mentioned). The main card will use the tax credits - the bicard will not.

If you get SU every month during the year, then usually the SU exceeds the tax credits and then it doesn't matter if your work or SU use the main A-card.

Svar: SKAT on personal income and SU

Thank you!
Just one quick question - so what would happen if I left both SU and my work under the A-card?

Svar: SKAT on personal income and SU

Mieleki:

will start receiving SU grant this month (started working March 31th). If I understand it correctly, there are two main cards for the tax payments in Denmark - the A-card and the B-card. SU automatically takes the A card. The problem is, my work does the same thing and my income from work will be higher than my income from SU (I was told that the higher income should go under the A card).

just tell the employer with the higher income to use the main tax card - and the other (eg SU) to use the bi-card -

Mieleki:

When will I tax the income? Considering the annual untaxed income of 43000

You will pay 8% gross tax on all income - also the first 43000 - You make a pre-declaration (forskudsregistrering) and your tax is automatically calculated

Mieleki:

My whole idea is to tax as low as possible until the summer (to save for vacation) and use as much as possible from the 43000 now, then tax the left 32000 during autumn. Is it possible?

nope - tax is distributed evently - to avoid problems for people using it as a bank

You can use "forskud" as a calculation machine - change income as much as you will and press - Beregn - and you will see the result - only when you press godkend - will it have an effect.

Pretty strange that forskud is not available in english

firstly, I would like to point out that my knowledge of the Danish language is still crippled. Given that, I hope I am at the right website and my thirst for help will be satisfied here. I will be very grateful to anyone who will be able to provide me with the info I am looking for. Thanks in a advance.

I am having troubles finding some information regarding my tax payment. SKAT.dk in this case provides me with some basic understading of how the Danish system works, however the fundamental core regarding my situation is still not possible to reach for me. To put this into perspective, I am a working student at Aarhus University and will start receiving SU grant this month (started working March 31th). If I understand it correctly, there are two main cards for the tax payments in Denmark - the A-card and the B-card. SU automatically takes the A card. The problem is, my work does the same thing and my income from work will be higher than my income from SU (I was told that the higher income should go under the A card). This would not be a problem if I was not told that only under the A card, I can apply all of the tax-deductions and under a B card, I have to tax everything. However, to my knowledge I am entitled to the annual income of 43000Dkk untaxed, meaning that if my expected income in 2016 (while working during April, May, Sept, Oct and Nov) will be 45000 + the circa 30000 from SU, I should tax only the 32000 over the line. My questions therefore are -

Can I have both SU and work under the A card? I will hardly tax bigger amounts of money this year so it is possible to get all the deductions straight away from the A card?

When will I tax the income? Considering the annual untaxed income of 43000, I should tax almost nothing from my work income. Is my monthly salary (My first payment from work is at 28. April) taxed right away or at the end of the year and what would be the difference under A or B tax card? Is this 43000 applied when I receive my salary or do they calcute it at the end of the year and then I get my tax refund?

I changed my expected annual income. I filled the expected income under the new job section for the year 2016, what should I expect then? The site says to me that I created some ''new tax card'' but everything is in Danish and when talking in the tax language, it is still gibberish for me.

My whole idea is to tax as low as possible until the summer (to save for vacation) and use as much as possible from the 43000 now, then tax the left 32000 during autumn. Is it possible? For example by keeping both SU and Work under the A-card? And how much does the change in expected annual income actually change what I tax (Do I tax monthly or annualy?) ?

I hope you understood my ideas and I beg you for understading because I believe that some of my questions might seem dumb and stupid. However I want to be absolutely certain in my finances. Thank you very much!
