I agree programming skill is important, but I recommend you to take your plan more as a business project than a web-building one. Beautiful design or powerful functionality maybe very attractive to your visitors, but I think you also believe "good deal" is the key to success. Nobody cares (even artists) the design of the website, but only the deals you can offer.

You will be the tie, connecting companies and customers. No company will be interested at you if your site has limited visits, no visitor will come if you don't have offers from companies. A good design or functionality of your site can be easily imitated or even copied, which won't be unique to you any more. Only your network, your connections with companies as well as your visitors (newsletter subscribers) are hard to be imitated, copied or acquired. This is the sustainable competitive advantage of your site. Sorry to say that, but I can't see the programming skill is not your strength in this context.

But I think you are right to start with a specific focus - restaurants in Copenhagen area - as you have limited budget. Your site might be the exclusive for customers to get good deals to eat in Copenhagen.

I didn't know sweetdeal.dk until I read your post, but, for your information, I know downtown.dk and takeoffer.dk - who are your competitors.

I hope my contribution may polish your view in this business.

Good luck with your project. I love to see the success of your site as a consumer - more competitive it is, more good deals I can choose.

I am curious. How will you make execute your "big marketing" plan you mention, if you do not have any money ?

I believe that going only viral won't be sufficient against the current competitors in this field.

Then you must have registered earlier this evening, as it is still seen as free. So I hope you ordered it from someone serious.

Well my idea is unique and is not yet seen in the segment, and I am extremely precausius about spreadning the info. Only 3 people knows about it, and it stays that way unless you have a lot of money

My project can go worldwide with limited funding but enormious impact in the market for this type of business.

Entryprice for outsiders in the project will be 600K - which amounts to 25% of shares in the company. And it is peanuts for the potential value..

I´m afraid you are mistaken there, as those sites actually are pretty perfect as the serve the wishes from both customers and companies.

No big marketingteam can assist you in achieving better performance in this field, and remember who is behind SweetDeal, they have a lot of customers.

And what will you do if you make a nicer looking site? Who cares if you have noone to mail to?

But it is more important to be the first commercial mover!

Sweetdeal has a great reputation and lots of satisfied customers, both b2b and b2c. A better design would not increase the interest of your site - you can't just clone the concept and think it will work becouse you have a big marketing team.

As i said before, i think it will require more than that. See the market in a new revolutionary way and take the groupon to v2.0 instead of just making a clone.

A lot of groupon sites has been launced over the past couple of years and the market is from my sight of view kinda full .. But, a revolution is not impossible.. But i can't see the revolutionary in your idea.
