Spoken to SKAT, they said it has started around two years ago that they ask for more details for some business categories e.g. Software development and related services.

And they say it is "normal".

This is not about honesty / hiding things. There is no secrets except it is annoying and more work to prepare all this information + contracts etc.

The person has Danish CPR, have been living here since 2009. The CPR was provided at virk.dk and VAT request was put after she logged in via her nemid.

So why making complicated.

Lets assume they do not register for VAT. What is the legal consequence on the company? Could it still sell?

Dont know - I would think something was registered on the person but what is the problem? Would the answers be secret to VAT registration??
Without VAT they would not be allowed to have a turnover of above 50.000 dkk in any given 12 month periode - but what is the problem to be honest?

No this is not standard if you have danish CPR etc. This may be a result of you being establishing as a non danish citizen from abroad maybe? Or you may have had a company giving a loss to tax/vat?

As with regard to what you should provide - the answer is - what they ask for - otherwise unless you can change what they want, you will not move forward

Hi there,

A request was put to register a SaaS company for VAT at virk.dk. Now SKAT sent a letter that they will not register it for VAT until provided with a lot more information.

They asked to provide:
- Detail description of the company's activities
- Suppliers and contract copies
- 12 months fund sources
- Who will work
- Where will the company's accounting material be stored physically
- How is it advertised
- Bank account contract
- who are the customers
- bla
- bla

Is it notmal?

Any advise on how much information should be given to SKAT?
